A man of 71-year-old man, drowned in a river in the small municipality of Saint-Pamphile, in Chaudière-Appalaches, on Saturday night.
The police officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) have been on the road to the Beach-du-Sault, around 17h, to rescue a man found dead in the Big Black river.
“According to preliminary information, the man would have fallen accidentally to his fishing boat,” says the spokesperson for the SQ, Valerie Beauchamp.
These are relatives of the victim who brought the body of the individual at the edge of the water before the rescue do the transport to the hospital. His death was found shortly after.
An investigator will attempt to clarify the circumstances of the incident, but for the moment, it would be likely to be an accidental death. The coroner has also been notified of the case.
