Two years after the abandonment of the A45 project between Lyon and Saint-Étienne, the State is launching a survey on the daily travel needs between the two cities.
A vast program of surveys is currently being carried out by the State by telephone and on the internet, the Prefecture Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes said on Wednesday.
State services point out that a global multimodal approach has been favored, in a short, medium and long term manner, in order to meet travel needs. Among the main projects, we note in particular the improvement of rail links between the two agglomerations, the modernization of the A47 and A72 motorways and of the RN88 to facilitate flows, or the study of reserved lanes for carpooling on the A7 at South of Lyon as well as carpooling areas, especially on the A47. As a reminder, an envelope of 400 million euros has been granted by the State until 2027 for these investments.
