Located in the La Croix-Rousse district in Lyon, the Bistrot Orcia has adapted its warm cuisine to take-away format.
It’s not always easy to replicate the polished aesthetic of a dish in a take-out format. It is nevertheless the successful bet of the chef “Gaby” of Bistrot Orcia, who has managed to convert his comforting cuisine into a nomadic format from the La Croix-Rousse district in Lyon.
Here, the proposals are reduced, but they evolve every week with always a dish (from 11 to 12.5 €) of fish (back of saithe, grilled Sarrazin and celery puree) or meat (little salted with Lentils revisited, duck from Domaine de Limagne à la Thaï) and a generous vegetarian dish, such as a risotto with mushrooms, autumn vegetables and Parmesan or, our choice, a “couscous” of vegetables from the Drôme, urge condiment and dried fruit cereals.
Ideal for warming up a Lyon winter evening under curfew
An original bouquet of flavor, almost sweet, ideal for warming up a winter evening under curfew. For dessert (6 to 6.5 €), the chef revisits the sweet treats, like his “in the idea of a Snicker’s”, in reality a savory cookie on a background of peanut caramel in Valhona chocolate ganache, also valid for a Bounty or a Pim’s.
Even if its vanilla rice pudding on an apple / pear coulis will perfectly satisfy the sweet palate. Orcia, it is also a kitchen “on the run” on Saturday morning: the chef cooks a family and festive dish outside. So much reason to climb there to change horizons before returning, later, to sit there longer.
