A violent hiccough after an exit from the road was a seriously injured in the night from Saturday to Sunday on the route du Golf in Beauceville. Alcohol and speed could be in question depending on the SQ.

The accident happened a little after midnight, a few kilometers from the highway 73. A man in the forties would have then lost control of his pickup truck in a sharp curve of the road to the Golf course before making a violent swerve.

“He then made barrels and he would have been ejected of his vehicle”, said Stéphane Tremblay, the spokesman of the Sûreté du Québec.

    Serious injuries

The man, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, was rushed to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries. The authorities indicated, however, in the beginning of the day on Sunday that we was not afraid for his life.

According to the preliminary findings, the alcohol would be involved, and the speed could also explain the exit from the road. “Blood tests have been requested on the driver,” says Mr. Tremblay.

The road to the Golf course has been closed a good part of the night to allow investigators in the reconstruction of their investigative work on the scene. Traffic was able to resume around 5 am Sunday morning.
