The theatre had to be in the spotlight and living in the city of Quebec. Cancelled due to the current situation, the Carrefour international de théâtre offers a virtual edition and online until 6 June.
The 21st edition, which was launched last Thursday, has been postponed to next year, but the people of the Crossroads have decided to offer a very special edition in the circumstances.
Special programming and free has been built with documentaries and artistic proposals complete.
“The theatre I lack. I don’t know about you, but for me the theatre I miss terribly. The artists I miss the colleagues I miss, the spectators, the friends of the festival miss me, all this great human network created through the practice of my profession I miss terribly. We will end by and find us… In the meantime, we offer you these few moments of nostalgia or discovery or deepening, in the company of artists that we cherish with all our love, for them and for you,” said the artistic director, Marie Gignac, in a press release issued by the Crossroads.
Among the recordings made, it will be possible to review the shows, The Mean of Di, The Night of Moles, Pinocchio by Joël his plays, A low degree of originality, as it and Straight Jacket Winter in their entirety. Theatrical objects, all of which have been presented at the Carrefour international de théâtre.
There is also a documentary on the work of stage directors Peter Brook, of which the show Why should be presented during the 21st edition of Alain Platel’s company Les ballets C de B, and Joel his plays.
A bank of photos of the first ten years of the itinerant show Where you go when you sleep walking…? has also been activated.
