A man in his twenties has died after losing control of his ATV to Saint-Octave-de-Métis, Bas-Saint-Laurent, on late Monday afternoon.
The driver was travelling on the row Cabot D, in the small municipality, located about 50 kilometres from Rimouski, to 16.25. It followed a group of friends on a motorcycle, behind the wheel of his side-by-side, when he attempted an overtaking manoeuvre.
The young man, however, has lost control of the spacecraft, which has carried out several barrels. The vehicle has stopped its race wedging under him the victim. His friends came to rescue her, the déprenant of his unfortunate position.
An ambulance transported the man in his twenties, and his passenger in hospital. The death of the driver was found at the hospital. The woman was taken with minor injuries.
An investigator in the crash visited the site to conduct an expertise of the scene. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) states that the two passengers on the ATV were wearing a helmet at the time of the tragedy, including the maneuver missed overflow is the main cause.
