Faced with the risk of a new epidemic outbreak, the tightening of health measures is taking shape. The authorities had announced at the beginning of the week that around 20 departments could be affected by the widening of the curfew to 6 p.m., against 8 p.m. currently. The final list must be made public on Friday January 1 by the government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal, guest of the 1 p.m. of TF1.

According to our information, five of these departments are already certain to be subject to curfew from 6 p.m. Meurthe-et-#Moselle, Marne, Ardennes, Jura and Hautes-#Alpes. In these departments, the meetings organized between the prefects and local elected officials were conclusive. From Saturday evening, their inhabitants will therefore have to stay at home between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., apart from the exemptions already provided for.

These departments are part of the territories where the circulation of Covid-19 is considered worrying by the health authorities, who want to prevent the epidemic from returning “uncontrollable”, a scenario mentioned by the Scientific Council in its last opinion published on Tuesday.

In total, twenty departments in eastern France had been identified on Tuesday as likely to apply the advanced curfew at 6 p.m. from January 2, but the situation has not yet been stopped for the remaining 15 departments: Allier, Alpes-#Maritimes, Ardèche, Aube, Doubs, Haute-#Marne, Meuse, Moselle, Nièvre, Haut-#Rhin, Haute-#Saône, Saône-et-#Loire, Vosges, Yonne and Territoires de Belfort.

The government also said on Wednesday that the list of departments could change next week depending on the evolution of epidemiological data. The health authorities are waiting in particular to measure the possible effects of Christmas family reunions to decide whether or not to strengthen the system.
