Alcohol: it causes a head-on collision while driving in the opposite direction on a ramp of the A640

A driver, presumably intoxicated, caused a head-on collision on Saturday afternoon after traveling in the opposite direction on a ramp on Highway 640 West, in Sainte-Thérèse, in the Laurentians.

The accident happened around 4:15 p.m. when the woman lost control of her vehicle, which ended up in the opposite direction on the highway 640 west ramp leading to Boulevard Curé-Labelle north. A vehicle came at the same time and could not avoid the face-to-face.

“The woman was arrested on the spot for impaired driving causing injuries,” Sergeant Claude Denis of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) told QMI Agency, adding that blood samples were requested.

The lady suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the SQ. A passenger in the back of his vehicle was not injured, and neither was the driver of the other vehicle.

The ramp was closed to traffic to allow investigators to do their job.
