    around 4,000 covid patients hospitalized in the region, stable situation for a month

    Nearly 4,000 patients followed for covid-19 are currently hospitalized in the region, a figure that has been fairly stable since mid-December. Basically, there are as many new admissions every day as there are people who are released from the hospital and who, unfortunately, die.

    By way of comparison, at the peak of the 2nd wave, in mid-November in the region, there were 7,200 patients hospitalized as a result of covid-19, including 866 in intensive care (on November 16).

    The results on the evening of Tuesday January 12 in hospitals in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region:

    • 3,956 people hospitalized (-71 in 24 hours)
    • 232 new hospitalizations in 24 hours
    • 379 people in intensive care (same number in 24 hours)
    • 44 new intensive care admissions in 24 hours
    • 68 new deaths in 24 hours
    • 7,221 deaths in total since the start of the epidemic

    The results on Tuesday, January 12 in the evening in the hospitals of the Rhône:

    • 928 people hospitalized (-21 in 24 hours)
    • 63 new hospitalizations in 24 hours
    • 128 people in intensive care (-3 in 24 hours)
    • 12 new intensive care admissions in 24 hours
    • 11 new deaths in 24 hours
    • 1975 total deaths since the start of the epidemic
