In MIA of Russia held a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission, which was devoted, in particular, of improving migration legislation. This was announced on Friday on the official website of the Department.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of internal Affairs of Russia, General of the police Vladimir Kolokoltsev. The discussion participants spoke, in particular, on the realization of the state program for voluntary return of compatriots living abroad, and regional resettlement programme in the Perm Krai and Sakhalin oblast.
Kolokoltsev noted that the program remains in demand and the geography of its action is expanding and currently covers 75 regions. According to the head of the interior Ministry, last year the country returned to 108 thousand people, which exceeded the expected influx of citizens 19%.
According to the Minister, popular among immigrants remain Central, Siberian, Privolzhsky, Ural and far Eastern Federal district. To the far East for the first quarter of 2019 came about two thousand people, or 40% more than the same period last year.
The meeting noted that in March the participants of the state program and members of their families were granted the right to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner in the presence of temporary registration in the selected region. Such a procedure of obtaining citizenship can also count some categories of the citizens established by the President of Russia in April.
