KINGSTON | The legend jamaican sprint Usain Bolt became a father for the first time, his companion Kasi Bennett having given birth to a daughter, announced on Monday the local press.
The jamaican prime minister Andrew Holness has confirmed the happy event on the social networks. “Congratulations to our legend of sprint-Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett for the arrival of their little girl!”, a-t-he tweeted.
According to local media, the couple’s daughter was born Sunday.
Bolt, 33-year-old had revealed on social networks in march that he would become a father, admonishing them, not without humour, the prospective contenders to take her away from her daughter. “Any man! Any boy! Don’t play with me!” had warned the eightfold olympic champion.
Bolt, holder of world records in the 100 m and 200 m, has taken his retirement from the sport in 2017 after a decade of domination without sharing in the sprint male.
During the 2016 olympic Games in Rio, he became the first athlete in history to achieve the double 100/200 m for the third time in a row.
