The authorities of Belarus to discuss the possibility of extending the visa-free zone for foreign nationals and facilitate their entry through the airports of the regional centers and land border crossing points. This was announced by the Minister of economy Dmitry Krutoy at the meeting of the Belarusian-Swiss business Council. “We plan to continue to expand the visa-free zone, to simplify the entry of foreign nationals through regional airports and land border crossing points”, – said the head of the Ministry of economy, quoted by BelTA news Agency. Cool also noted that the Belarusian government expects to soon sign an agreement with Russia on mutual recognition of visas. This, in his opinion, will contribute to the development of contacts. From July 2018 in accordance with the decree of the President of Belarus citizens of 80 countries can stay in the country without a visa for up to 30 days provided they arrive via the Minsk international airport. Also for tourism development was adopted the decision on visa-free stay of foreigners in visa-free zones in the Brest and Grodno regions. Earlier it was planned that the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Russia on mutual recognition of visas will be signed in December 2018 in Brest at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union state, however, the signing did not take place. The Belarusian side is motivated by the need for before signing the document internal procedures. The draft document stipulates that foreign citizens who have a Belarusian visa, you will be able to enter unhindered in Russia. Similarly, with visa, foreigners will be able to visit Belarus.
