NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg in conversation with the correspondent of Belsat TV said that the Alliance does not see threat from Belarus. He stressed that relations need more transparency and predictability, as tension in the region grows.
NATO’s relations with Belarus are based “on a common interest and open chances for dialogue, “said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, answering the question of correspondent of TV channel “Belsat”. He reminded that Belarus and NATO partner since 1995.
“We are working with Belarus on the issues of transparency, risk-reduction, as in the security sphere, we see the increasing tension. We see more military exercises. Therefore, we need more transparency and predictability”, — quotes the author of the words of the head of the Alliance.
However, he noted that NATO on the part of Belarus does not see any threats to allies. Stoltenberg also welcomed the partnership and collaboration with Minsk, adding that his assistant on new security issues have recently visited the country to a dialogue to try to strengthen relations, writes “Belsat”.
