Sébastien Lecornu, former Overseas Minister, was named Minister of the Armed Forces replacing Florence Parly, announced this Friday the secretary general of the Elysée Palace Alexis Kohler​. This former militant of the Republicans at the age of 35 years old has become a loyal supporter of Emmanuel Macron, whom he actively led. the 2022 presidential campaign.

Unknown to the world of armies, the new tenant of l’ Hôtel de Brienne will take the helm of a ministry which has benefited from a strong increase in its budget since 2017, but which fears future unfavorable arbitrations in view of the deterioration of public finances.
