Despite the fact that earlier the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has rejected the invitation of the Munich security conference, he will visit the European Union with an official visit.
This was reported in the office of the President of Austria Alexander van der Bell – November 12, he will make his Belarusian counterpart reception in Vienna.
The presidents of Belarus and Austria will hold talks in narrow and extended format (with the participation of representatives of the government). They will discuss bilateral issues, human rights concerns and preserving the memory of the victims of Nazism.
In addition, the Federal economic Chamber of Austria will host a bilateral economic forum.
In the office of the Austrian President noted that the visit of Lukashenka was organized in coordination with the EU.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei said earlier that on 12 November, Lukashenka will visit Austria – this will be his first visit to the EU for a long time.
It is worth noting that this year Lukashenka was invited not only in Munich but also in Brussels, where in may hosted a two-day jubilee summit of the Eastern partnership program this year was 10 years old. But he also refused to go – Belarus was represented by Mackay.
