The company’s winter clothing Canada Goose announced on Wednesday that it will become carbon neutral by 2025.
The canadian company had planned to eliminate its direct and indirect emissions of greenhouse gases by 80% thanks to investments in the company.
“No matter what we have done over the past 60 years, we must do more. The world can’t wait. Our ambitious commitments set out in our first sustainability report are the steps that we take to transform our methods of work”, indicated by way of a press release Dani Reiss, president and ceo of the company.
She also plans to stop buying fur new to focus on fur second-hand. Canada Goose will also amend its sources of supply to promote the purchase of textile and duvets, responsible and ethical.
The plastic single-use will also be banned in all establishments of the company.
Canada Goose also announced that it had achieved carbon neutral “mathematical” in march 2020 through investments in offset projects, which is equivalent to 200 % of its annual emissions.
