The Montreal Canadiens announced that their two new acquisitions have chosen which number they will wear on their blue-white-red jersey.
Goalkeeper Jake Allen will endorse the 34, while defender Joel Edmundson has opted for the 44.
In the case of the masked man, it is the same number he always had in the National Hockey League (NHL), he who played seven seasons with the St. Louis Blues.
For his part, Edmundson had no choice but to find a new number, because the number 6 he wore with the Blues and Carolina Hurricanes already belongs to another player. Indeed, the captain of the Sainte-Flanelle, Shea Weber, is the owner.
The two newcomers were obtained by Marc Bergevin in the last few weeks. Allen was acquired from the Blues for third and seventh round picks at the upcoming NHL auction.
For his part, Edmundson was obtained from the “Canes” against a fifth round selection in the same draft. He then got a four-year contract extension that will earn him $ 3.5 million annually.
