Just a week ago, information appeared about the Chinese Marche Byton, who wants to make premium electric cars. At the ongoing CES Asia in Shanghai, the company introduced electric sedan K-Byte, who, so far has the status of a concept car.
Externally, the sedan looks very aggressive and futuristic that unites him with other electric concepts – Faraday Future FF91 and Lucid Air, but K-Byte, apparently, is a bit smaller. On the published photos you can see that the concept is replete with LED elements and bold design solutions in front of the body, also it shows and classic door handles. Perhaps they will touch, however, as practice shows, the cars still need classical solutions. The same can be said about the mirrors on the concept, instead they use a retractable camera, however, it is unlikely that this solution will be used on the production version of the car.
Since all three announced Byton models are built on a modular platform, it can be expected that the sedan had the same power plant as the crossover. In the standard version serial crossover Byton, which, incidentally, is called the M-Byte, equipped with a 272-horsepower electric motor. More expensive modification will receive two motors with a total capacity of 476 horsepower, and with high probability we can assume that these engines will be installed in saloon K-Byte.
With regard to timing, the brand plans to put customers first sedan in 2021. The estimated cost is not yet announced, but, apparently, the car will compete with the Tesla Model 3, which is sold in the U.S. market at a price of 35 000 dollars.
At the moment the specialists of Byton are actively working with Aurora to introduce into the system cars Autonomous driving the fourth level, which will not require the driver’s active participation in management.
