A woman was on the verge of death following a collision between two vehicles in Sainte-Marie-Madeleine in Montérégie, Sunday afternoon.
A car driving on Chemin du Grand-Rang would have failed to make its mandatory stop at the intersection of Route 116 around 2:15 p.m., said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
It then collided with another vehicle traveling on 116. The driver and front passenger of the latter vehicle were injured, but their lives were not feared. The rear passenger, however, was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
As for the vehicle at fault, the driver and passenger were not injured, despite the violence of the accident. Both cars were wiped out in this collision.
SQ investigators have opened an investigation to shed light on this event. The intersection has been temporarily closed to traffic so that the police can do their job.
