Corning Gorilla Glass 6 will be one-third stronger than
The screen was and remains the most vulnerable point of the smartphone. The company Corning, a leader in the field of tempered glass for mobile devices, introduced the sixth generation of Gorilla Glass.
The emphasis in the creation of a new was made on the impact resistance: testing confirmed that the vitality of smartphones in the fall will grow by more than 35%.
New chemically tempered glass Corning Gorilla glass 6 can survive 15 drops from a height of one meter without crashing – for comparison, the previous generation could survive up to 11 drops under similar conditions.
The company Corning, users leave their smartphones on average about 7 times a year. Even given the fact that in real life drop often occurs not in a laboratory environment, new manufacturing technology will give the device a fair margin of safety.
Another innovation from Corning was the technology of printing on glass surfaces without compromising their strength. During the presentation the company demonstrated several variants of similar design – for example, glass with a print under the tree.
