Los Angeles | The governor of California announced Tuesday that the schools in his State might not reopen before the summer holidays because of the control measures against the outbreak of coronavirus.
Currently, nearly 99% of all schools in california, more than six million students in total, were closed for several weeks, said governor Gavin Newsom during a press conference.
“I can’t say with certainty, but I will say this loud and clear: do not expect that they re-open next week or in a few weeks,” warned Mr. Newsom.
“I préparerais based on the principle that it is very unlikely that many schools could open before the summer holidays”, a-t-launched it to the parents.
Schools and us colleges generally close their doors between late may and mid-June for school year between the end of August and beginning of September.
California has released emergency funds to finance the distance education students and maintain programs of food aid for disadvantaged families.
