COVID-19: another death and 13 new cases in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean

COVID-19: Un autre décès et 13 nouveaux cas au Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean

The balance sheet of the COVID-19 in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, has increased with 13 new cases, Monday, for a total of 239, while an eleventh patient has lost their lives since the beginning of the pandemic.

He is another resident of the CHSLD of the Hill, located in the district of Chicoutimi, in the Saguenay.

The outbreak has taken a sharp turn for the very special in this hotel, which hosts a hundred of elderly.

There are currently 46 cases of COVID-19 among the employees, while 42 residents are met, for a total of 88 people directly affected by this outbreak, the biggest in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.

The regional health authorities are not able to explain why the number of affected employees has exploded in the last few days.

However, they ensure that, unlike last week, they can rely on teams dedicated to this establishment, now that workers in other sectors are arrived in reinforcement.

The employees have all the necessary equipment to protect themselves.

A team dedicated to the prevention and control of infections will soon be on-site 24 hours on 24. It will ensure that workers correctly use the equipment at their disposal.

Nine of the 11 deaths confirmed in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean are occurring in this establishment.
