COVID-19: « des centaines de milliers d’appels » à la SAAQ

A bottleneck has formed at the customer service department of the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec.

Since 20 April, the SAAQ has gradually gained some of the services. To get to perform a transaction, the government agency invites Quebecers to call to make an appointment. This method has been developed to meet the urgent needs and essential for motorists has been the victim of its own success.

In an interview with the issuance of The Guide the self on QUB Radio, Mario Vaillancourt, a spokesperson for the SAAQ, recounted that, “last week, there are days where we had hundreds of thousands of calls.”

It was all the same to clarify that “there are still many thousands of people who are served on a daily basis. But it was a volume of calls that we have never seen, because everyone tries to call at the same time.”

In order to give an idea of what that represents such a high volume of calls, Mr. Vaillancourt states that “last week, during a few days, we had roughly two-thirds of the number of calls we can have on all year.”

During this broadcast, Anthony and Germain have also discussed the reopening of the dealers, the abandonment of the project of SUV electrical connection between Lincoln and Rivian, the end of the production of the Lexus GS and rumours of a Chevrolet Corvette of 100 horses.

The two facilitators have also delivered their impressions on the Cadillac XT6 and Hyundai Kona electric recently tried.

To conclude the show, Anthony and Germain have drawn the portrait of the current situation of Buick, which was abandoned by General Motors in North America.
