Wishing to relaunch its activities which are affected by the pandemic, the air carrier Transat includes free, for a limited time, insurance for COVID-19 in the prices of its return flights.

According to the Montreal-based company, the COVID-19 Emergency Medical Insurance Certificate, offered through Manulife, covers emergency medical and quarantine costs if the virus is contracted while traveling.

It is offered free of charge to customers who make a reservation by October 31.

The COVID-19 Medical Care Insurance Certificate is associated with the purchase of tickets for a return flight or a Transat vacation package. Please note that the first departure date allowed is October 1 and the last departure date is April 30, 2021.

It includes emergency medical insurance, which covers up to CAD $ 200,000 per insured person for medical and hospital expenses that may be incurred due to a positive COVID-19 test result during the trip, said Transat, Friday, by press release.
