COVID-19: now more than 107 000 infections in the country

COVID-19: maintenant plus de 107 000 infections au pays

MONTREAL | Ontario and Quebec continued, Saturday, increasing the death toll of the pandemic COVID-19, relating, respectively, 130 and 91 new cases.

Ontario has, to date, 36 594 infections and 2716 loss of life, far behind Quebec and its 56 407 sick and 5620 dead. Signs may be encouraging, the 91 additional cases reported Saturday by the Quebec mark a decline, after days of 100 cases Friday, and 137 cases on Thursday.

In total, to date, 107 346 Canadians have contracted the COVID-19’s, the disease which has carried away 8773 of them.

Caution during the holidays

As more and more Canadians travel to the country to enjoy their vacation, the Dr Howard Njoo, deputy chief of the public health agency of Canada, has reminded people to stay home if they have symptoms related to the disease coronavirus.

“Before you leave the house, watch your health, said Dr. Njoo. If you feel ill, cancel your travel plans, avoid contact with others, and consider consulting a health care professional.”

The public health agency of Canada invites the holiday makers to be vigilant during their travel, the situation-specific viruses that may be different to their place of destination of the one that prevails at home.

“If you go to the cottage or camping in a small community, be considerate to the residents of the locality by limiting interactions with them. Refuel, buy food and drinks before you head out to the cottage or the campground to limit the visits to the stores of the community”, added Dr. Njoo.
