The Pro-Am Gagné-Bergeron will turn in 2020. Its organizers have decided to cancel the next edition of the charity event because of the actions of the government of Quebec prohibiting large gatherings sports until the end of August.
So this is another appointment that goes through the wringer because of the pandemic of the COVID-19. The event, which comes to the aid of children was to be held on 6th August at the Centre Videotron.
The organizers said they wanted to ensure the “health and safety” of participants, many of whom are hockey players of the NHL, spectators, and volunteers.
“Because the children helped by the organizations beneficiaries of the Pro-Am are still vulnerable, especially during this crisis when they are affected, to a significant degree, a replacement event aimed to raise funds for them will be held in the coming months and details will be announced shortly”, the organization said by way of press release.
Since its inception 12 years ago, the Pro-Am Gagné-Bergeron has donated close to two million dollars to four organizations, namely the Pinion, Blue, Leucan, Fondation Philippe Boucher, and the Maurice Tanguay Foundation.
