COVID-19: three more deaths in the National Capital

Three other people have lost the life in Quebec region, even if the balance sheet continues to be stable and encouraging.

The CIUSSS in the National Capital on Friday confirmed three new deaths, bringing the total to 51 deaths to date.

One person died at the Jeffery Hale, for a total of 30 dead. All sectors combined, approximately 165 people have been infected in this place, patrons and staff included.

Seven foci of an outbreak are listed in Quebec city. The CHSLD Paul-Triquet, there are two additional deaths, for a total of 11.

In the other households of the outbreak, six more people are infected at the Gardens of Evangeline, for a total of 63.

The CHSLD Saint-Jean-Eudes, 11 more people are infected, for a total of 16.

Two weeks without loss of life, in Chaudière-Appalaches

The balance sheet of the deaths in the Chaudière-Appalaches remains of seven dead from the April 17, two weeks without any loss of life. The spread of the virus is very low.

For the whole of the province, the authorities have announced that 163 new death yesterday for a heavy total of 2022 people since the beginning of the pandemic.

The total number of deaths for the two regions of the Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches regions is less than 3% of the balance sheet of the province.

In the designated hospitals of the region, the situation remains good.

“Together, we share the responsibility to protect our seniors, particularly those in accommodation who have a health very fragile and that the risk of death due to the disease is highest,” said Dr. Desbiens.
