CHARLES PLATIAU / AFPGérald Darmanin, here at the Élysée in Paris, December 9, 2020.

DRUGS – A total of 3,952 places of sale of narcotics have been identified in metropolitan France and overseas by the Ministry of the Interior, said this Sunday, December 20 Gérald Darmanin, who announced the creation of a platform to allow residents to report them.

“I want the police and gendarmerie to attack each of them. I will communicate every month the number of points of deal dismantled on the territory ”, declares the Minister of the Interior in an interview granted to the Parisian.

A point of deal is defined by the ministry as a place on the public highway where traffickers sell drugs on a daily basis.

Gérald Darmanin, who gives the figures for seizures of cannabis, cocaine and heroin each month, has made the fight against drug trafficking his priority since his arrival at Place Beauvau.
