MEGAMIGS, the Quebec event for the video game industry, will present the Training and careers component on September 25 and 26. Gaming enthusiasts will be able to meet industry giants for mentoring advice, as well as discover the school programs available in Quebec. This is an exceptional chance, especially if you dream of a career in the gaming industry.
Future students and workers from across Quebec will be able to learn about the professions of the future and the training programs that lead to a career in video games. What is the academic path to become a producer or creative director? What are the other little-known jobs in the industry? You will have answers!
The 2020 edition of MEGAMIGS, which is digital this year, will also give plenty of scope for recruitment for professionals looking for work. More than 2,000 jobs affecting different facets of video game production will be filled in the coming months.
More than 30 programs specific to video games are offered in CEGEPs, universities and private establishments, in addition to 31 3D programs. MEGAMIGS will allow you to learn more about all of these programs, and ask your questions to industry professionals.
“Students will be able to meet with industry game makers for mentoring advice. What is the academic path to become a producer or creative director? What are the other little-known jobs in video games? They will be able to learn about the jobs of the future and the training programs that lead to a career in the video game sector. Lectures are also offered, for example “Learning while having fun, gaming is serious”, “First steps towards the video game industry” or “Retrospective of the history of video game consoles” “, explains Nadine Gelly, general manager of the Guilde du jeux vidéo du Québec.
