China is interested in imports of Ukrainian pork, while our country and she is stepping up purchases of dollars abroad. This was reported by the press service of the Association of breeders.
China needs to import meat, as 60% of pigs in the country-cut because of African swine fever. This has led to acute shortage of pork, which is a very popular type of meat among Chinese consumers. As noted in the Association of breeders, this situation opens up for Ukraine wide prospects of export. However, for supplies of the government of Ukraine and China are expected to sign a veterinary certificate.
“We need to intensify the process of signing a veterinary certificate between the two countries, which have already run the state foods and consumer service. <…> We will again appeal to the government to solve this issue as soon as possible”, – said the head of the Association Irina Palamar.
It is also reported that in the near future Ukrainian business delegation together with manufacturers go to China to discuss the details of the supply of pork.
According to experts, Ukrainians consume insufficient number of not only fish, but also pork: while the minimum physiological norm of consumption of such meat is 30 kg per person a year, Ukraine consumed just 15 kg.
