E3: The 2022 edition of the video game fair will once again be held online because of the pandemic

Since the appearance of the coronavirus, the habits of gamers have been greatly disrupted. In June 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, the organizers of E3 decided purely and simply to to cancel the annual meeting of video game enthusiasts. And last year, it’s transformed an all-digital event, the first in history. The Los Angeles Convention Center remained desert.

Will virtual be a godsend for E3?

Unfortunately, it seems that we have to deal with a completely digital show again this year. Indeed, in an interview with GamesBeat, organizers announced that they preferred to give up host the event face-to-face again this year.

“Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on safety ; exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022. future of E3 and we look forward to announcing more details soon,” they said.

A decision that may come as a surprise, especially when one knows that the Consumer Electronic Show, held at Las Vegas, was held in person. If the organizers of E3 have not indicated the way their salon would be held this year, they added, however, that they were “excited about the possibilities of an online event”.
