Eidos announced this morning the opening, in Sherbrooke, a new studio that will bring technical solutions to the development teams of Eidos-Montreal.
Eidos-Sherbrooke will initially focus on three key projects: geo-morphing in real-time, ray tracing-based voxel engine and game to multi-node. You hear a lot about ray tracing these days, partly because 2020 is a year of new generations with the release of consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
It will be interesting to see what projects of Eidos-Montreal, the new studio of Sherbrooke will work. Eidos-Montréal, which belongs to Square Enix, has a portfolio of games is quite impressive with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and soon Marvel’s the Avengers.
The studio will officially open its doors in the fall (telework) with Julien Bouvrais as their leader. According to the official website, there are several positions to be filled, then go take a look!
