Employees of the MIA of Russia was allowed to travel to Turkey and Thailand. The corresponding decree was signed on Friday, the Minister of internal Affairs of Russia, major General of police Vladimir Kolokoltsev, reports RIA “Novosti” with reference to the official representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Irina Volk.
In the last four years, police and employees of other power departments are not encouraged to travel to 116 countries, the list of which was published on the Russian foreign Ministry and has been adjusted several times.
One of the last cuts in the list occurred in 2018. From the list removed a number of foreign countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, China and Cuba.
Information about the introduction of a special order of visits to some States by Russian authorities appeared in the media in 2015: to travel to many countries they had to obtain written permission from the head of the territorial body of the police, the Deputy Minister or the Minister’s office. The leadership of the security services feared that employees could be arrested abroad at the request of the United States.
