A major fire occurred on Sunday, aboard a military ship stationed in San Diego, California, injuring several sailors, according to the fire department of the city.
The origin of the fire is not, for the moment, not known. A thick cloud of smoke emitted from the vessel, according to images broadcast by the american networks.
Firefighters said they were called around 9am (local time) to respond to a fire on board theUSS Bonhomme Richard, stationed in a naval base in San Diego, in the south-west of the United States.
“Several sailors have been supported for various injuries”, has tweeted the fire department, without giving further details. According to several american media, 11 sailors were treated for “minor injuries”.
According to testimony cited by the american media, an explosion would have been heard before you see the fire.
