Floods in the Irkutsk region: the number of victims has risen to 12 people

The death toll in floods in the Irkutsk region grew to 12 people, reports TASS with reference to Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Mutko.

The search for nine other people continue. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, 751 people were affected, 153 is now hospitalized, and “this figure is changing.”

The floods began on June 24th, the epicenter was in the city of Tulun with a population of over 40 thousand. State of emergency operates in five districts of the Irkutsk region. So far impounded more than three thousand houses, inhabited 9809 people (including 2681 child), 18 social facilities, 3525 garden plots. For the victims collect humanitarian aid. Cut off from the outside world remain four settlements.

In Tulun gone with the river Ia home has formed a traffic jam at the bridge near the route “Siberia”. The width of the jam is 150 metres away. It plans to clear.
