Formula 1: “there is more to come,” Lance Stroll

Formule 1: «Il y a plus à venir» de Lance Stroll

The fourth place Lance Stroll at the Grand Prix of Hungary is only a glimpse of his talent and the first of many good results during the current season of Formula 1, if it is necessary to rely on the director of the stables Racing Point Otmar Szafnauer.

After qualifying third in Budapest, Stroll ended at the foot of the podium. An encouraging result for the 21-year-old, at the time when rumors send the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel at Racing Point – renamed Aston Martin after 2021.

“This is exactly what Lance needed,” said Szafnauer the site Motorsport, recently. It allowed him to have confidence in him. We always knew he had the speed and talent, but when he does under pressure, he knows he is capable of it. It is not only we who say to him. He has done an excellent job and a lot of good turns.”

Szafnauer was also recalled that the adaptation to a new team is not screaming scissors. Thus, after a more difficult year alongside Sergio Perez in 2019, Stroll seems to be able to make equal game so far this year with the Mexican.

“There are a lot of things to learn, including our car, the way the engineering team works, how we share data and how to manage the tyres,” said Szafnauer. It is a matter of knowing what to do in the tower output, how to work with your engineer’s performance, and all that is not done from one day to the next day.”

“It requires experience and he has learned all of these things. We also spent a lot of time to understand how to use these tires, adjust the car depending on the tires, and we can help Lance for all of it. He learned very quickly. And as you can see, the performance has followed. There is more to come from her.”

The next stage of the championship will be the Grand Prix of Great Britain, played on Sunday next.
