The project of Fridges of Maslow Foundation CERVO will deliver 3000 meals a week to vulnerable clients afflicted by a mental health problem.
Mental health lies at the heart of many narratives of containment since the beginning of the pandemic. Behind the COVID-19 hide people who are looking to fill basic needs.
With the context, these people become doubly vulnerable, even if they are the collateral victims of the coronavirus with a job loss and financial insecurity.
“By providing prepared meals to persons in distress, we are proud to meet a need that has grown because of the crisis,” said Maryse Beaulieu, executive director of the Foundation CERVO.
At the present time, the requirements have more than tripled over 3000 meals per week are required to meet the demand. In addition, a hundred kits of hygiene products were distributed, in addition to the medication.
In the greater Quebec city region, some 12,000 people are currently followed in the community by different stakeholders.
To this day, the Foundation CERVO has been able to count on the support of businesses in the region.
Thanks to their generosity, the equivalent of 4,000 meals will be delivered, since each$ 5 donation allows to provide more than one meal. The organization invites, of course, the residents and businesses of the region to follow suit to fill the Refrigerators of Maslow, a$ 5 at the time: click here.
