The French Parliament approved an amendment to the “law on waste”, which prohibits the advertising campaign “black Friday”, writes Euronews. The amendment condemns the excessive consumption and catastrophic environmental indicators of the trading day.
“To stop the excessive consumption, which misleads consumers”, said Parliament’s decision. The act specifies that advertising of “black Friday” creates the impression that the consumer benefits from lower prices, comparable sales, determined by law, when they actually do not. It is noted that a new edit needs to be approved by the lower house of the French Parliament – the National Assembly.
