France has recorded 3,093 new cases of Covid-19 contamination in 24 hours, for a total of 2,550,864 people infected since the start of the epidemic, according to data published on Saturday, December 26 by the Ministry of Health.

These figures are biased due to the closure of laboratories on Christmas, a public holiday. In addition, with 146 additional deaths in hospitals, the toll of the epidemic in France now stands at 62,573 deaths.

French hospitals are treating 24,477 patients with Covid-19, 85 more than on Friday. The number of patients treated in intensive care rose to 2,649, or 24 more than the day before.

Sevran and Dijon will kick off the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in France on Sunday, where a first case of variant contamination recently detected on British territory has just been discovered.
