Germany will take steps to strengthen cybersecurity of Ukraine during the election period

On Friday, January 25 during the world economic forum in Davos the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and received from her a promise to promote fair and transparent elections in Ukraine in spring and autumn, informs Rus.Media.

Poroshenko noted that the bulk of the agreements concerned the interaction of special services on issues of cyber security of state institutions and organizations in Ukraine.

The head of state did not specify what exactly support Germany has agreed to grant Ukraine in strengthening the defense.

“We are talking about cybersecurity. It is including on data exchange”, – said the President.

Poroshenko also commented on their previous meetings at the summit. According to him, there were about 20 and all of the partners retain the “firm position of support to Ukraine.

“We have a firm position regarding support for Ukraine. Thanks to our international partners that demonstrate such support, showing the position of protection of Ukrainians”, – said the Ukrainian leader.

Component security and the situation in the East of Ukraine, the President said that the international community has confidence in its “reality”. Partners from Europe, USA and Canada are confident that Ukraine should continue its support to strengthen the army.

“Today, it is very important that the US and EU, and Canada perceive this as a real threat. We are not talking about aid to Ukraine, said the joint efforts to protect democracy around the world,” he said.

Prior to this, in Davos, President Poroshenko said in an interview with Bloomberg that the campaign for intervention in the electoral process in Ukraine is already started and its plan exposed a foreign intelligence service.

Earlier, the Chairman of the foreign intelligence Service of Ukraine Yegor Bozhok said that the enemy had appropriated an amount of $ 350 million to carry out subversive activities ahead of the presidential elections in Ukraine.

The goal of the campaign is an attempt to change the leadership in the Ukraine to put the country back under the protectorate of Russia. The representative of the intelligence said that the enemy is counting on a “shutdown” in Ukraine after the change of political leadership.
