The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not appoint the inauguration of President Vladimir Zelensky on may 19, reports RIA “Novosti”. According to the decision of Parliament, the inauguration Zelensky must go through may 20.
Parliament was seven resolutions: Zelensky was supposed to take office of the head of state 17, 19, 20, 26, 28 may or 1 June. Himself elected President has insisted on sworn in on may 19. He said that the current government of delaying the date of the inauguration, that he could not dissolve the Parliament in legislative terms.
Today’s decision by Parliament was supported by 315 MPs with the necessary 226 votes.
Zelensky won the second round of the presidential elections, beating the incumbent Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko. Voted 73,22% of the voters. Poroshenko was able to enlist the support only 24,45%.
