Great Wall Motor has received the approval of local authorities for the construction of the plant together with BMW, which allowed BMW to build electric mini car in China.
In February 2018 BMW and Great Wall signed a letter of intent to produce in China mini battery battery powered.
The purpose of this operation will be opening in Jazztage plant capable of producing 160,000 cars on gasoline for export and another 160,000 so-called vehicles to new energy (NEVs), according to documents on the city’s website.
On Friday, submitting the application to the Shanghai stock exchange, Great Wall announced that the total investment in the project will amount to 5.1 billion Yuan (724,4 million Dollars), and construction is set to begin next year and be completed in 2022.
Trade dispute between China and the United States forced the leadership of BMW to freeze plans to create a Chinese export center. BMW said at the Geneva motor show in March that it needed to assess whether the export financially viable.
