Hit-and-run in Montreal, the son of the minister Barrette stopped

Geoffroy Barrette, son of the minister of Health and social Services of Quebec, was arrested Friday morning in Montreal, following a hit-and-run that occurred a few hours earlier on the Plateau-Mont-Royal.

According to the Service de police de la ville de Montréal (SPVM), the arrest of the young man of 23 years took place at around 5: 10 a.m.

Investigators are trying to determine his involvement in this case.

He is suspected of having struck a bicyclist shortly after midnight, at the intersection of Rachel and St. Dominic, and to have taken the leak.

The cyclist was injured but we aren’t afraid for his life.

The minister Gaétan Barrette has sent a press release in which he claims that he learned the news of the arrest of his son at his alarm clock, on Friday.

He said he was shocked, adding that her first thoughts ” were immediately to the victim and his loved ones.”

Mr. Barrette stated that he was not aware that his son was subject to a driving prohibition.

It has the support and stressed that he will now have to answer for his acts.
