This is too much accident for the mayor of Colombier Saugnieu, a town located near the Lyon-Saint-Exupéry airport.Early this Monday, January 11, a horse was struck by an ambulance on Departmental Route 29. Severely affected, the animal succumbed to its injuries. But for the mayor of Colombier Saugnieu, the owner of the horse is responsible of this accident.
“We must not wait for a fatal accident”
“The owner of the animal, well known to the courts since he was very recently sentenced to three fines in favor of animal protection associations and to confiscation of the horses, recurrence of danger, once again. By letting his animals clutter the roads without any supervision, the owner endangers the lives of others and those of his animals“, explains Pierre Marmonier, in a press release in which the mayor claims to have alerted the Prefect of the Rhône as well as the Public Prosecutor.”What will happen when a young driver or biker is hit in turn? We must not wait for a fatal accident to happen to be concerned about these alarming facts. I call for action as quickly as possible, it is for the safety of our fellow citizens.“, continues the mayor of Colombier Saugnieu.
