Gilbert Dionne relives the excitement this week then, is presented to TVA Sports, the Stanley Cup final of 1993 between the Montreal canadiens and Los Angeles Kings.
Twenty-seven years later, he remembers as if it was yesterday of this conquest, that he can now share with his children, who were not born at the time, while Dionne was only 22 years old.
“It’s nice to relive those emotions with my family,” he said in an interview with the show Dave Morissette en directon Tuesday, after the release of the second game on TVA Sports. The meeting was ended with a victory of 3 to 2 of the CH, marked by a hat trick from Eric Desjardins and the famous wink of Patrick Roy.
“When we took the plane after the victory in Los Angeles, I was so excited. While I drank my beer, I asked Guy Carbonneau if we were going to win the Stanley cup in Montreal. He answered me: “Relax kid, we’ll talk tomorrow morning!” I didn’t want to return to Los Angeles, I was too tired. It was great to be able to win the cup at the Forum.”
