Two patients of the Hospital regional de Rimouski have received a positive diagnosis in the last hours.
A first case was reported positive on Thursday evening. This is a patient who was in the hospital for a day surgery.
According to the integrated Centre of health and social services (CISSS) in the Bas-Saint-Laurent, he exhibited no symptoms upon his arrival at the hospital and is now in isolation, just as other patients with whom he would have been in contact in the day.
In addition, doctors and nurses have been placed in quarantine as a precautionary measure.
Attempts to identify other employees who might have been put at risk.

The other case was already hospitalized in general medicine at the regional Hospital in Rimouski for a few days and was reported positive on Wednesday. This patient was transferred to the unit COVID-19 and is currently in isolation.
Thirty patients on the same unit have also been placed in isolation, as 100 employees of the hospital centre. These employees were not removed as they were wearing their protective equipment, but they will undergo a screening test.
