Tomatoes from the local greenhouse this week on sale and have not been reported, since all greenhouses of Ukraine has already completed the sales season.
Ukrainian traders have reported a new wave of decline in prices of imported tomatoes. Short-term but significant price increase last week was one of the reasons for the sharp decline in demand for Turkish tomatoes.
Some wholesale companies still refrained from purchasing imported tomatoes, arguing the slow pace of sales of these products in retail. The rest of the company usually purchased the tomato in small batches exclusively for current sales, planning to increase the volume of purchases before the new year holidays. In the circumstances the sellers to step up the pace of sales had to reduce selling prices, and currently serves Turkish tomato price 28-32 UAH/kg($1.19 and of 1.36/kg), on average, 8% less than at the end of last week.
Also, project experts say that tomatoes from the local greenhouse this week the sale has not been received. Since all greenhouses of Ukraine has already completed the sales season.
We will add that at the moment, imported tomatoes in Ukraine is in average 10% cheaper than a year earlier. At the moment the tomatoes from Turkey constituted the bulk of deals on the Ukrainian market in this segment.
