In Brest, two arrests after the demonstration against the Global Security law

The fourth Saturday of mobilization against the comprehensive security bill was attended by approximately 700 people, 500 people according to the police. The demonstrators had gathered in Place de la Liberté at 3 pm against “a frightening and worrying bill“. From the rostrum, the organizers welcome a”very important mobilization in Brest, made possible by the collective“.

However, halfway along the route, the procession splits into two parts. One of them goes to the people’s house to pay tribute to Édouard Mazé, a historical victim of police violence in Brest. The other part is heading to the Colbert police station in the city center, already degraded last week. The police await the demonstrators, who begin to throw projectiles and knock down security barriers.
