The President of the Republic of Namibia Hage Geingob announced throughout the country a state of emergency due to severe drought. The official Declaration was published in the official account of the President .
“This decision was made after consultations with the government in accordance with article 26 of the Constitution of the country,” the President said.
According to the leader of the country, for the entire rainy season, which is already completed, and the territory of Namibia had passed almost no rain at all. The President said that natural disaster can affect many citizens and ordered to mobilize all possible resources to provide the necessary care.
Earlier it was reported that severe drought has gripped Sri Lanka. Over 320 people are faced with an acute shortage of water.
