The Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaev said that his country had not received an invitation to the Eurasian economic Union, and expressed the hope that this will never happen.
About it writes “true European” with reference to BGNES.
“Maybe around the government there is some sort of protective shell, so this invitation is difficult to obtain”, — joked the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia.
Then he seriously said: “No, no such invitation, and I hope that will not happen”.
So the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia responded to a reporter’s question that would enter his country to the Eurasian Union led by Moscow after the EU refused to begin negotiations with Skopje on EU membership.
Two weeks ago North of Macedonia and Albania was not invited to talks on EU membership because of the position of the President of France Emmanuel Makron, which required first to carry out reforms within the block, and then continue to expand.
Meanwhile, at the end of last week the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic signed an agreement on accession to the Eurasian economic Union led by Russia. Partly, he explained this step with the slow progress of the negotiations with Brussels.
The EU has warned Serbia that membership in the Eurasian Union and at the same time in the EU and Belgrade will have to choose.
